Job summary

Cleveland Heights-University Heights City School District in University Heights, OH, is seeking an Elementary School Parapro to assist teachers, counselors and administrators in delivering educational services to students with special needs.

Qualifications

• Two years of college coursework.
• OR an Associate’s Degree or higher.
• OR high school diploma with the passage of the ParaPro Assessment prior to employment.
• One year of related successful work experience.
• Strong interpersonal skills.
• Experience in operating basic office equipment, such as copiers.
• Ability to lift equipment, supplies and/or children weighing at least forty (40) pounds.
• An active Educational Aide Permit (1-Year or 4-Year) or a teaching license issued by the Ohio Department of Education.

Responsibilities

• Assist teachers, counselors and administrators in providing educational services to students with special needs.
• Support remedial, enrichment and independent living activities as well as supporting instructional and educational goals.
