Job summary

Avesta Housing seeks an Associate Development Officer to support multifamily housing development across Maine and New Hampshire. You’ll work with Development staff, financial partners, consultants, and internal teams to move projects from concept through construction and lease-up.

The role requires strong project management, financial underwriting, and collaborative problem-solving. Travel within Maine/New Hampshire is required; flexible location and hybrid work arrangements are possible as

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree required; Master’s degree in a relevant field preferred.
• Excellent communication and analytical skills.
• Ability to prioritize and manage multiple deadlines and tasks concurrently.
• Commitment to collaborative project management and learning on the job.
• At least 1 year of financial underwriting, project management, real estate development, or other relevant experience.
• Knowledge of multifamily housing and development processes with deep familiarity in design/finance/construction/asset management.

Responsibilities

• Support development and rehabilitation of multifamily housing from concept through construction and lease-up.
• Assist with project financing and prepare financial analyses and budgets.
• Coordinate with development stakeholders and partners to advance projects.
• Guide projects through key milestones and ensure timely execution.
• Contribute to Avesta Housing’s mission by creating and preserving quality, affordable homes.
