Job summary

Gaudenzia, Inc. in Maryland is seeking an Addictions Counselor to support individuals on their recovery journey. The role requires licensure or certification, with a focus on counseling people with substance use and co-occurring disorders, and a commitment to dignity and recovery.

You will manage caseloads, complete assessments, develop treatment plans, document services, and collaborate with community resources to ensure continuity of care and successful discharge planning.

Qualifications

• ADT certification required through the Maryland Board.
• Degrees include Social Work, Psychology, Addiction Counseling, Human Services, or Criminal Justice.
• Experience in Human Services fields.
• Licensed or certified candidates preferred.

Responsibilities

• Manage a caseload of clients per program requirements.
• Conduct evaluations and assessments including ASAM and biopsychosocial histories.
• Develop individual treatment plans upon admission.
• Document services in the electronic health record and complete monthly reports.
• Maintain timely EHR tasks within 24–72 hours.
• Conduct individual and group sessions per treatment plan.
• Collaborate with funding sources to inform treatment and length of stay.
• Monitor progress and adjust plans as needed.
• Coordinate with community resources for through treatment planning.
• Assist with discharge planning and connecting to continuing care.
• Follow up after discharge per regulatory guidelines.
