Job summary

Fresenius Medical Care in Olympia Fields, IL is seeking a Patient Care Technician to join the acute hospital dialysis team. You will provide patient care under RN supervision, help maintain a safe environment, and support dialysis treatments including setup and monitoring of machines.

Requirements include 1–2 years of related experience, a High School Diploma, and a valid PCT certification. The role involves heavy lifting, travel between facilities, and 10–12 hour shifts (MWF) starting early.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma required or equivalent.
• Valid PCT national certification or state-specific certification required.
• CMS licensure and training as applicable.

Responsibilities

• Provides patient care under RN supervision in the acute setting.
• Maintains a safe, clean work environment and supports quality improvement activities.
• Operates and primes dialysis equipment as directed by the Fresenius nurse.
• Records vital signs, weight and treatment parameters accurately.
• Evaluates vascular access and reports any abnormalities to RN.
• Discontinues dialysis per procedure and assists with post-treatment care.
