Job summary

University of Minnesota Extension is seeking an Extension Educator – 4-H Youth Development in Redwood County. The role focuses on leading, managing, and stewarding the full range of 4-H Youth Development programming for adults in the county.

You will collaborate with youth, families, volunteers, community partners, and University faculty to reach program goals, with a 1.0 FTE schedule and in-person work at the Redwood County Extension Office and in communities across the county.

Responsibilities

• Program Development, Delivery, and Engagement – engages youth, volunteers, and partners to create a county-specific program plan reflecting demographics and local needs.
• Designs and delivers high-quality, culturally-relevant programs that support youth in learning and leadership.
• Develops lesson plans and teaches youth and adults using evidence-based practices.
• Plans and manages delivery of 4-H clubs, camps, after-school programs, fairs, and other events.
• Identifies strategies to diversify participation to be welcoming and inclusive.
• Collaborates with supervisor, program leaders, Extension educators, peers, and partners; primarily in person with some virtual work.
• Develops and supports community partnerships to extend reach and impact.
• Establishes staffing plans including partners, volunteers, interns, and short-term staff.
• Uses established evaluation tools to inform program design, improve effectiveness, and market the program.
• Other related duties as assigned.
• Establishes and maintains effective evaluation and reporting processes to demonstrate program value.
