Job summary

YES Prep Public Schools in Houston is seeking a 26-27 Teacher Fellow for a 10-month assignment beginning August 3, 2026 through May 28, 2027, with required training in July 2026. Compensation is $56,500 annually, with opportunities to impact student trajectories and grow as a school leader.

The role embeds you across campuses, covering leaves of absence in high-impact courses, while building relationships and developing as a content-area expert.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree from a regionally accredited four-year educational institution.
• GPA of 2.5 or higher.
• Strong classroom management skills.
• Willingness to engage in work impacting PK–12.
• Ability to remain in long-term assignments for full duration.

Responsibilities

• Embed with YES Prep staff and students to learn the cadence of a school day.
• Transition into teacher of record duties when assigned.
• Maintain strong classroom management across grade levels.
• Prepare and adapt lessons to ensure instructional time is not lost.
• Ensure lessons are rigorous and college-ready.
• Collaborate with teachers and leaders to align lessons with student needs.
• Provide constructive feedback on assignments to support student goals.
• Demonstrate resilience and professional growth through feedback.
