Job summary

Voce is recruiting for paralegals to support the SWAN Legal Services Initiative (LSI) across Pennsylvania counties. You will draft petitions and motions, participate in court hearings, and assist with witness preparation to help achieve permanency for children in the child welfare system.

Preferred candidates have an Associate's or higher in a relevant field or a paralegal certificate; up to 5 years of related experience may substitute for education.

Qualifications

• General knowledge/work experience in legal or in child welfare is preferred.
• Associate's degree, Bachelor's degree, or paralegal certificate preferred; 5 years related experience may be substituted.

Responsibilities

• Draft legal documents for solicitor review, including petitions, orders, motions and stipulations.
• Participate in county court hearings and pre-hearing conferences.
• Assist with lay and expert witness preparation for testimony.
• Facilitate and/or train on approved LSI training topics.
• Support county best practices.
• Conduct diligent searches to locate parents, relatives or other potential permanency resources or connections for children in care.
• Other duties as assigned.
