Job summary
Voce is recruiting SWAN Legal Services Initiative paralegals to support permanency efforts for children in county welfare systems across Pennsylvania. Paralegals will draft petitions and orders, participate in hearings, assist with witness preparation, and train teams on approved LSI topics.
Travel to trainings may be required; onboarding emphasizes collaboration and adherence to county best practices. Qualified candidates have an associate's degree, a paralegal certificate, or a related degree,
Qualifications
- General knowledge/work experience in legal or child welfare is preferred.
Responsibilities
- Drafting legal documents for solicitor review, including petitions, orders, motions and stipulations
- Participate in county court hearings and pre-hearing conferences
- Assist with lay and expert witness preparation for testimony
- Facilitate and/or train on approved LSI training topics
- Support county best practices
- Conduct diligent searches to locate parents, relatives or other potential permanency resources and collaborate with caseworkers regarding all search results
