The Sorenson Impact Institute at the University of Utah is seeking an Associate, Impact Investing in Salt Lake City to train students and manage investment processes for high‑impact ventures.

You will source investments, lead due diligence, prepare investment materials for committees, and mentor student interns, combining investing expertise with a passion for teaching in a fast‑paced, entrepreneurial environment.

Qualifications

• Equivalency statement allowing 1 year of related work experience for 1 year of education.
• Supervisor, Investment Management requires a bachelor's with up to 2 years related work experience or a master's degree.

Responsibilities

• Mentor and Train Student Interns: equip a rotating cohort of student interns with hands-on venture capital and impact investing through underwriting and full-cycle due diligence for early-stage deals (pre-seed–Series A).
• Early-stage Venture Investing: identify, maintain, and prioritize a pipeline of early-stage venture investment opportunities; conduct due diligence and investment analysis; prepare materials for Investment Committees.
• Relationship Development and Management: build and maintain a network with investment professionals to source high quality deal flow.
