Job summary

JPMorgan Chase & Co. is seeking a Community Development Banking Associate within our Commercial Real Estate team in New York.

You will support underwriting and approval for acquisition, construction, and permanent loans, reporting to a CDRE Banker and collaborating with originations and risk teams. You will gather client and deal information, prepare LOIs and term sheets, build profitability models, coordinate due diligence, and support closing readiness while aligning with CRA goals and

Qualifications

• Experience in community development real estate lending or investing with a focus on affordable housing.
• Underwriting expertise in LIHTC, subsidies, and construction/permanent financing structures.
• Strong analytical and financial modeling skills; ability to assess risk.
• Track record of managing multiple transactions and deadlines with disciplined project management.
• Excellent communication skills, in person and on the telephone with prospects and partners.
• Ability to work in a team and adapt priorities to achieve goals.

Responsibilities

• Gather, analyze, and maintain client, sponsor, and deal information and update records.
• Support pitch prep by evaluating deal terms, budgets, market context, and economics.
• Prepare LOIs/term sheets and client documentation with Credit Originator.
• Build draft profitability models and coordinate outputs with originations.
• Coordinate due diligence, folders, and checklists across workstreams.
• Facilitate appraisals and third-party reports; manage costs and timelines.
• Coordinate internal stakeholder communications to support onboarding and closing readiness.
• Collect and review required documentation; coordinate KYC initiation.
• Track sponsor exposure, pipeline activity, and deal status; update production reporting.
• Monitor progress and elevate issues affecting closing or conversion timelines.
