JPMorgan Chase & Co. is expanding its Community Development Banking team to support affordable housing and economic development projects nationwide.

The Community Development Banking Associate will assist in underwriting and approval for acquisition, construction, and permanent loans and collaborate with originations and risk teams to drive closings. The role emphasizes rigorous analysis, multitasking across transactions, and close interaction with clients, sponsors, and government partners

Qualifications

• Experience in community development real estate lending or investing, focusing on affordable housing.
• Underwriting expertise in LIHTC, subordinate/public subsidy layers, and construction/permanent financing structures.
• BA/BS degree.
• Strong analytical and financial modeling skills; ability to synthesize complex information and assess risk.
• Track record of managing multiple transactions and deadlines with disciplined project management and follow-through.
• Ability to interact with prospects, clients, consultants, government staff, and legal counsel.
• Ability to work as a team member and adjust priorities to achieve goals.
• Excellent organizational, written, and verbal communication skills.
• Commitment to CRA mission and familiarity with lending activities' impact on communities.
• Strong PC skills; proficiency in MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook.

Responsibilities

• Gather, analyze, and maintain client and deal information including records.
• Support pitch preparation by evaluating deal terms, budgets, market context, and economics.
• Prepare LOIs/term sheets and client documentation with the Credit Originator.
• Build draft profitability models with the originations team.
• Coordinate due diligence collection and tracking across folders and workstreams.
• Facilitate appraisals and third-party reports by managing information flow, costs, and timelines.
• Coordinate internal stakeholder communications to support onboarding and closing readiness.
• Collect and review required documentation and coordinate KYC initiation.
• Track sponsor exposure, pipeline activity, allocations, and production inputs.
• Monitor deal progress and escalate issues affecting closing timelines.
