Job summary

Belay Technologies is seeking a System Administrator to join our intel team in the Baltimore/Washington area. You will support IT systems, ensure security and performance, and collaborate on modernization efforts.

The role requires extensive Linux experience, DoD 8570 IAT I security credentials, and the ability to work 10:00–14:00 business hours. Competitive benefits and a strong compensation package are offered.

Qualifications

• In-depth Linux experience required.
• Familiarity with PowerShell and Bash scripting languages.
• Experience with system hardening and security baselines.
• Experience working with ISSOs for system compliance.
• DoD 8570 compliance with IAT Level I is required.
• Ability to work core hours 10AM–2PM Monday–Friday.

Responsibilities

• Provide day-to-day operations, monitoring, maintenance, and problem resolution for client systems, servers, storage platforms, network devices, and related infrastructure.
• Provide Tier 1 (Help Desk) and Tier 2 (Escalation) support, including diagnosis and resolution.
• Support escalation process and communicate status to management and stakeholders.
• Assist with hardware support activities and dispatch processes.
• Configure, administer, and maintain Windows and UNIX/Linux OS, including patching and hardening.
• Maintain integrity and availability of infrastructure while improving reliability and performance.
• Collaborate with engineering to support modernization efforts and new tech adoption.
• Participate in assessment of existing systems and architectures for automation and DevOps initiatives.
• Support planning, testing, deployment, and sustainment of changes across on-prem, hybrid, and cloud environments.
• Assist in security considerations and migrations related to infrastructure changes.
