Job summary

NeighborWorks Housing Solutions seeks an Assistant Real Estate Project Manager to oversee LIHTC housing projects, guiding them from predevelopment to completion in Southern Massachusetts. Qualifications

• Commitment to NHS’ mission and understanding of racial equity in housing and community development.
• At least one year of experience in supportive housing development or relevant real estate activities.
• Some knowledge of project/construction management, design or engineering.
• Some knowledge of permitting and zoning.
• Some knowledge of supportive housing financing programs, preferably in Massachusetts.
• Goal-oriented, hands-on, can prioritize and drive multiple tasks to completion while coordinating development team members.
• Strong listener, communicate well, build relationships with staff, partners, consultants, funders and community members.
• Entrepreneurial spirit and willingness to think creatively to solve problems.
• Strong mathematical ability to understand financial statements and reports.
• Excellent computing skills and ability to learn new technologies.
• Must pass a background check and have a valid driver’s license.
• Lived experience relevant to NHS’s service communities.
• Position requires in-person presence in Southern Massachusetts.

Responsibilities

• Manage and collaborate with partners on scoping for supportive housing projects.
• Help create and manage project proformas, budgets and schedules.
• Monitor projects from predevelopment to completion with construction and project teams.
• Assist in monitoring predevelopment contractors and attend meetings on-site or virtually.
• Coordinate community engagement to gather feedback and gain local support.
• Collaborate with Resident/Community Engagement, Case Management and residents during construction or renovation.
• Assist in preparing applications for project financing and occupancy planning.
• Ensure timely completion within budget and travel to multi-Gateway cities as needed.
• Support the Real Estate Development Team and partner organizations in creating more units.
