Job summary

IDEXX is seeking Associate Scientists for the Assay Design & Development group in New Product Development. The role focuses on designing, testing, and characterizing new reagents and products with strong immunoassay and molecular biology skills.

You will work with a diverse biochemistry and analytical chemistry team, perform experiments, analyze data, and communicate findings to R&D, Operations, and Manufacturing. Travel may be required.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Biochemistry, Chemistry, Biotechnology, or related field with 3–5 years of lab experience.
• Experience with PCR reagents, oligonucleotides, plasmids, enzymes or molecular diagnostics is preferred.
• Hands-on ELISA and other immunoassay techniques are preferred.
• Strong bench skills, data interpretation, and analytical thinking.
• Ability to design and execute moderately complex experiments independently or with limited supervision.
• Excellent written and verbal communication, and strong organizational skills.

Responsibilities

• Independently design, execute, and troubleshoot multi-variable lab experiments and communicate findings to the team.
• Perform lab testing, characterization, and validation of reagents and final products.
• Analyze experimental data and provide recommendations based on results.
• Prepare solutions, reagents, and maintain electronic lab notebooks and reports.
• Present results to cross-functional teams including R&D, Operations, and Manufacturing.
• Support reagent scale-up, process improvements, investigations, and tech transfer activities.
• Ensure work complies with quality, safety, and regulatory standards.
• Design, execute, and analyze experiments to accelerate a pipeline of new products and technologies.
