Job summary

Smurfit Westrock in Delaware Water Gap, PA is seeking a Production Superintendent to lead the one-machine Coated Recycled Board mill, directing safety, quality and cost performance through a team of shift supervisors.

You will report to the Mill Leadership Team, drive continuous improvement, coordinate with maintenance, customer service and quality control, and ensure on-time delivery while developing people and capital plans.

Qualifications

• BS degree in a related field such as Chemical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or Pulp and Paper science.
• Minimum ten years' experience in pulp and paper industry.
• 5 years supervisory experience in a union environment.

Responsibilities

• Direct and coordinate production operations 24/7 through direct and indirect supervision.
• Promote and model safety, enforce safety programs and OSHA regulations.
• Plan and direct production activities and priorities to optimize operations and costs.
• Coordinate with Customer Service, Maintenance, Quality Control and Shipping to maximize productivity.
• Review production reports and identify causes of nonconformity and problems.
• Develop and submit reports for the Operations Manager and support capital planning.
