Job summary

An innovative social services organization in Baltimore is seeking an Accountant to transition finance operations in-house. This role involves maintaining accurate financial records, supporting grant reporting, and ensuring compliance with complex grant regulations. Ideal candidates will have a Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, 5+ years of experience, and proficiency in accounting software. The position offers a salary range of $70,000 to $85,000 with a comprehensive benefits package, including health insurance and retirement plan contributions.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of accounting experience; nonprofit or grant accounting experience strongly preferred.
• Experience with month-end close, reconciliations, and financial documentation.
• Detail-oriented, organized, and comfortable working in a growing, evolving environment.

Responsibilities

• Maintain the general ledger with accurate coding by program, grant, and cost center.
• Support monthly close activities, including journal entries and balance sheet reconciliations.
• Assist with accounts payable, accounts receivable, and cash receipt tracking.
