Job summary

Porsesh Policy Research Institute (PR) in King County, Washington seeks two Afghan Community and System Navigators to help Afghan refugees and immigrants connect with local resources. These full-time, in-person roles require professional fluency in Pashto, Dari, and English, and a bachelor’s degree is preferred.

You will work with community organizations, translate, and advocate for community needs while maintaining case records and coordinating referrals.

Qualifications

• Fluency in Pashto, Dari, and English (spoken and written) is required.
• Knowledge of Afghan culture and the refugee/immigrant experience.
• Experience in community work, social services, or advocacy is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Assist Afghan community members in navigating local systems (healthcare, education, transportation, housing, financial services).
• Provide information and support in accessing resources and services.
• Build relationships with Afghan community members to understand needs and challenges.
• Collaborate with organizations and agencies to coordinate services and referrals.
• Translate and interpret in Pashto, Dari, and English to ensure effective communication.
• Conduct outreach to raise awareness of resources and services.
• Maintain records of interactions and track community needs for reporting and program improvement.
• Work with team to ensure cohesive support.
• Perform other relevant tasks as needed.
