Descripción de la vacante

Hope Haven is seeking a Data and Outcomes Specialist in Charlotte, NC to coordinate cross‑department data collection, ensure data quality, and translate findings into actionable insights for staff, leadership, and funders.

The role emphasizes ethical data practices in behavioral health settings and requires experience in reporting, dashboards, and HMIS, with a hybrid, part‑time schedule of roughly 15–20 hours weekly.

Formación

  • At least five (5) years of experience in behavioral health, substance use treatment, homelessness services, housing, healthcare, public health, social work, or another human services setting.
  • Excel proficiency including formulas, sorting, filtering, and pivot tables, plus experience using databases, electronic records systems, dashboards, and reporting tools to collect, analyze, validate, and report data.
  • Demonstrated understanding of the complexity of measuring recovery, behavioral change, and progress toward individualized goals.
  • Experience collecting, reviewing, and reporting program and client-related data.
  • Ability to interpret information thoughtfully and communicate findings to both technical and non-technical audiences.
  • Strong organizational skills, sound judgment, and close attention to detail.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to work independently while building effective working relationships across departments.
  • Commitment to confidentiality, ethical data practices, and the respectful handling of sensitive information.

Responsabilidades

  • Coordinate data collection across departments to support timely, complete, and accurate organizational reporting.
  • Help staff understand data definitions, outcome measures, methods of calculation, documentation requirements, and reporting expectations.
  • Review data for missing, inconsistent, or incomplete information and work with departments to resolve concerns.
  • Develop and maintain practical procedures that improve data integrity and consistency.
  • Serve as an internal resource on outcome tracking, performance measurement, and responsible interpretation of human services data.
  • Collaborate with program and clinical leaders to identify meaningful indicators of client progress, program quality, and organizational impact.
  • Analyze quantitative and qualitative information to identify trends, questions, opportunities, and limitations.
  • Interpret findings within the context of recovery and human services, recognizing that individual progress may not follow a uniform or linear path.
  • Help distinguish between activities, outputs, short-term outcomes, and longer-term impact.
  • Support a culture in which data is used for learning and program improvement, not simply for compliance.
  • Develop and maintain dashboards and performance reports for leadership and the Board of Directors.
  • Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual reports related to program outcomes, organizational performance, and strategic priorities.
  • Translate complex findings into clear, accurate, and useful information for technical and non-technical audiences.
  • Support data-informed planning and decision-making across the organization.
  • Partner with the Director of Corporate and Foundation Relations to provide accurate data, outcome measures, and impact information for grant applications and funder reports.
  • Collaborate with program, clinical, finance, and administrative staff to support contract reporting and compliance requirements.
  • Assist with data and reporting readiness for HUD-funded opportunities and participation in HMIS.
  • Coordinate the annual renewal of charitable solicitation registrations.
  • Maintain accurate organizational profiles on third-party information and rating platforms, including Charity Navigator, Candid, and BBB.
  • Perform other related duties that support organizational reporting, transparency, and continuous improvement.
