Job summary

Overtown Youth Center in Miami is seeking a College and Workforce Readiness Success Coach for 11th–12th Grade students. You will provide in-school and out-of-school coaching, advising, and case management to help students prepare for college, vocational training, military pathways, and workforce opportunities.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in counseling, education, social work, or related field required; Master's degree preferred.
• 2–3 years of experience in college and career counseling, youth development, academic advising, or related field.
• Knowledge of college admissions processes, financial aid, and postsecondary planning.
• Experience working with high school students in college access or workforce readiness is preferred.
• Ability to facilitate workshops, advising sessions, or youth engagement activities.

Responsibilities

• Provide in-school and out-of-school coaching, advising, and support to 11th–12th grade students enrolled in OYC Miami's target schools.
• Conduct student needs assessments and assist students in developing individualized postsecondary readiness and career plans.
• Facilitate individual and small-group coaching on college access, career exploration, financial literacy, and leadership development.
• Assist students with college applications, FAFSA, scholarships, vocational programs, and career pathway exploration.
• Promote participation in dual enrollment, internships, and workforce training opportunities.
• Monitor student progress, attendance, and readiness indicators to support success.
• Organize workshops and engagement activities on college/career readiness and financial literacy.
• Coordinate college and vocational tours, career fairs, and enrichment experiences.
• Build relationships with students, families, school staff, colleges, and community partners.
