Counter Fin is a Newark-based social impact firm helping workers navigate disability and leave benefits so they don’t lose everything when work stops. We are expanding our network of insurance and benefits professionals to help clients protect income and manage risk.

As a 1099 Insurance Broker / Benefits Partner, you are an independent contractor with very favorable commissions. You will build your own pipeline, place products with appointed carriers, and collaborate on webinars and referral

Qualifications

• Licensed insurance producer/broker in states you serve.
• Experience with disability, leave, or income protection products is a plus.
• Comfortable working as a self-directed 1099 contractor.
• Ability to build and manage your own book of business.

Responsibilities

• Advise workers and families on income protection, supplemental benefits, and related insurance options.
• Educate clients on how private coverage interacts with SSDI, TDI, FLI, and employer benefits.
• Conduct virtual or in-person consultations, needs analyses, and policy reviews.
• Recommend and place appropriate products through your appointed carriers, in line with licensing and compliance requirements.
• Build and manage your own pipeline, including follow-ups, renewals, and cross-sell opportunities.
• Collaborate with Counter Fin on joint webinars, workshops, and referral programs focused on financial resilience.
