Job summary

Building Hope Holdings seeks a Director of Asset Management to protect and enhance the value of its investment portfolio. You will monitor performance, identify risks, manage stakeholder relationships, and recommend strategies to maximize repayment and mission impact.

The role partners with leadership and the Board, developing new processes and leveraging AI where appropriate to optimize asset management and ensure strong governance across owned assets.

Qualifications

• 7+ years in commercial lending, portfolio management, CDFI lending, charter school finance, or asset management.
• Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Finance, or related field; Master’s preferred.
• Experience analyzing school financial statements and investment agreements.
• Experience implementing and utilizing credit monitoring systems.
• Experience managing loan modifications, covenant compliance, and workouts.
• Strong executive communication skills with the ability to present complex credit issues clearly.
• Ability to work cooperatively with stakeholders; experience with AI tools is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Strategic portfolio management and credit risk oversight across assets.
• Review term sheets, lease documents, and underwriting memos for compliance.
• Identify emerging risks within the portfolio and propose action plans.
• Develop and update investment policies in collaboration with leadership.
• Build dashboards for impact data and risk signaling; monitor CECL program.
• Present portfolio performance and mitigation strategies to the board.
