Job summary

PharmaEssentia Innovation Research Center (PIRC) in Bedford, MA is seeking an Associate Scientist or Scientist to advance hematologic malignancy programs through hands-on pharmacology studies.

You will design and execute in vitro, ex vivo, and in vivo experiments, develop immunology assays with human/murine cells, and analyze data to inform decision-making. The final title will reflect experience; six-month contract with possible extension or conversion to full-time.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's/Master's/PhD in Immunology, Pharmacology, Oncology, Cell Biology, or related discipline; title aligned with experience.
• Hands-on experience supporting immunology/oncology drug discovery programs.
• 2+ years of relevant research experience in academia or industry; equivalent combination considered.
• Experience in hematologic malignancies (e.g., MDS, MPN, AML, Lymphoma, Leukemia) preferred but not required.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and execute in vitro, ex vivo, and in vivo pharmacology studies to characterize target biology and evaluate therapeutic candidates.
• Develop functional immunology assays using human and murine primary immune cells and established cell lines.
• Generate high-quality, reproducible datasets and maintain complete, accurate records to support discovery decisions.
• Apply mechanistic immunology and immuno-oncology knowledge to interpret results and guide next steps.
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to advance program objectives and coordinate with CRO partners.
• Present data-driven findings and contribute to study plans, protocols, and reports.
