Job description

The organization is seeking a skilled scientist to contribute deep expertise in MPN and oncology biology to the advancement of its drug discovery programs. The successful candidate will apply strong scientific judgment to inform experimental design, interpret complex datasets, and troubleshoot unexpected results, operating within a program strategy established by senior scientific leadership. The ideal candidate will possess substantive scientific knowledge of myeloproliferative neoplasms and driver-mutation biology, and will be seeking to deepen this expertise within a collaborative team environment rather than to determine overall program direction.

Key Responsibilities
  • Contribute scientific expertise to the design and interpretation of studies supporting target validation, mechanism-of-action understanding, and lead characterization, within the scientific direction established for MPN and related myeloid malignancy programs
  • Provide scientific input on MPN-relevant model systems and study designs, including approaches involving primary patient samples and bone marrow biology, as directed by the broader program plan
  • Contribute as an active member of cross-functional drug discovery teams, providing scientific input to colleagues in non-clinical sciences, DMPK, and translational science to inform subsequent decisions
  • Present results and scientific updates to the immediate project team and research leadership on a regular basis
  • Maintain thorough and accurate scientific records and data files in accordance with internal documentation standards
  • Prepare sections of scientific reports, presentations, and, where applicable, publications or patent filings, for review by program leadership
  • Monitor scientific literature and emerging methodologies relevant to assigned programs and bring promising developments to the attention of the team
Required Qualifications
  • Ph.D. in Oncology, Cancer Biology, Hematology, Molecular Biology, Cell Biology, Pharmacology, or a related discipline, together with a minimum of two years of industry (biotechnology/pharmaceutical) drug discovery experience (postdoctoral experience will be considered); alternatively, a Master's degree in a related discipline with a minimum of six years of equivalent industry experience
  • Substantive scientific knowledge of myeloproliferative neoplasms (e.g., polycythemia vera, essential thrombocythemia, myelofibrosis) or closely related myeloid malignancies, sufficient to inform study design and interpret complex data
  • Demonstrated capacity to contribute independently on a day-to-day basis, while operating within a strategy and set of priorities established by program leadership
  • Experience serving as a contributing member of a cross-functional drug discovery team
  • Ability to communicate scientific data and technical detail clearly to an immediate project team
Preferred Qualifications
  • Background in immunology, particularly as related to cancer immunotherapy or immune cell biology
  • Knowledge of biologics (e.g., antibodies, antibody-drug conjugates, bispecifics, or related modalities)
