Job summary

University of Texas Southwestern Medical Center is seeking a Research Assistant I for the Immunology laboratory. The successful candidate will support anti-viral and anti-tumor T cell projects under Dr.

Chen Yao, performing data collection, cell isolation and culture, and basic molecular analyses. Responsibilities include maintaining lab operations, assisting in data presentation, and participating in lab meetings.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree or 2 years of college with related coursework; high school diploma acceptable with more experience.
• No experience required with a Bachelor's degree or 2 years of lab experience at the level described.
• Experience in mouse handling and basic molecular biology is preferred but not required.

Responsibilities

• Perform routine scientific and medical research tasks in biology-related fields.
• Operate and maintain laboratory equipment.
• Record data and discuss results with supervisor.
• Isolate and culture cells; genotype and phenotype mice.
• Perform flow cytometry, PCR, and DNA analyses.
• Maintain organized lab records and inventory.
