Job summary

UT Southwestern Medical Center in Dallas seeks a Research Technician to provide technical assistance and coordinate biospecimen collection, processing patient samples, and support with assays such as immunohistochemistry, immunofluorescence, Western blot, qPCR, ELISA and cell culture.

Training in basic laboratory techniques will be provided. This role links clinical operations with laboratory research and requires meticulous data handling per institutional policies.

Qualifications

• Education: Bachelor’s degree with major coursework in field of assignment or equivalent experience.
• Experience: No experience required with Bachelor’s degree or two years of laboratory experience or four years with high school/GED equivalent.

Responsibilities

• Performs routine scientific and medical research work in biology, chemistry, physics, or related field.
• Operates laboratory equipment and records data according to procedures.
• Assists in data collection for project reports and literature review.
• May supervise lower-grade laboratory personnel on parts of a project.
