Job summary

Rhode Island Blood Center is seeking a Medical Laboratory Technologist to perform serologic investigations on donor and patient samples, interpret results, and provide consultation to clients while supporting organizational quality efforts.

Qualified candidates will have an associate or bachelor degree in Medical Technology or related field with ASCP certification, 0–1 year experience, full-time second shift, and a $2,500 sign-on bonus.

Qualifications

• 0–1 year of relevant technical experience in a laboratory environment.
• Quality control and proficiency testing experience is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Perform serologic investigations on donor and patient samples.
• Interpret and report test results.
• Prepare laboratory reagents and chemicals.
• Maintain accurate, concurrent records using computerized systems.
• Provide consultation to internal and external clients on immunohematology.
• Participate in educational programs to meet regulatory requirements.

Education

ASCP certification

Associate degree in Medical Technology

Bachelor's degree in Medical Laboratory Science/Medical Technology

Bachelor's degree in Physical, Chemical, or Biological Science with ASCP certification
