Job summary

St. Jude Children's Research Hospital in Memphis, TN seeks a Bioinformatics Research Scientist to advance the iTARGETS initiative. You will analyze omics data, develop pipelines in R/Python, and visualize results for immuno-oncology projects.

You will lead computational analyses of transcriptomics, proteomics, and single-cell datasets, collaborate across a multidisciplinary team, and ensure rigorous, accessible end products for translation to therapies for children.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree required with 6+ years of post-degree bioinformatics experience (or Master's with 4+ years; PhD with no experience).
• Experience in at least one programming language and one statistical package, with R preferred.
• Strong coding and scripting skills; ability to develop bioinformatics workflows and pipelines.

Responsibilities

• Independently perform basic and advanced level statistical analysis and algorithm implementation.
• Design and prepare materials for training on bioinformatics software and databases.
• Act as a liaison between end-users, software developers, and departments.
• Establish protocols/best practices and SOPs for common research tasks and data workflows.
• Lead development, installation, and maintenance of databases and data collection pipelines.
• Develop programs to assist in data analysis within databases and projects.
