Job summary

St. Jude Children's Research Hospital in Memphis, TN is seeking a Bioinformatics Research Scientist to join the CEPIO and work on the iTARGETS initiative, embedded in the lab of Hongbo Chi, PhD.

You will lead computational analyses of omics datasets including transcriptomics, proteomics, scRNA-seq, ATAC-seq, spatial omics, CRISPR screens, and more, ensuring rigorous, accessible results through collaboration.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in bioinformatics or related field with biology/chemistry background.
• Master’s degree or PhD preferred.
• 6+ years post-degree bioinformatics experience; MS with 4+ years or PhD with no experience.
• Experience in at least one programming language and at least one statistics package (R preferred).

Responsibilities

• Independently perform basic and advanced statistical analyses and develop algorithms.
• Design materials and courses for training on bioinformatics tools.
• Act as liaison between end-users, software developers, and departments.
• Establish SOPs and best practices; evaluate products and solutions.
• Lead DB development, installation, maintenance, and data coordination.
• Develop programs to assist in data analysis within databases.
• Coordinate projects across departments and delegate tasks.
