Job summary

The South Dakota Department of Health is seeking an Immunization Registry Coordinator to manage the SDIIS and maintain immunization histories across the state.

Ideal candidates have a health-related degree (preferred), strong data management and communication skills, and the ability to work in a fast-paced public health environment. Remote work up to three days per week is available with travel as needed.

Qualifications

  • Knowledge of immunizations' impact on public health, data management and quality improvement.
  • Strong communication and teamwork, time management, and ability to interact professionally.
  • Proficiency with Word, Excel, and other computer programs.

  • Manage the South Dakota Immunization Information System (SDIIS) and oversee immunization histories.
  • Handle account management, vaccine product information, and registry-related customer service.
  • Collaborate with healthcare facilities, clinics, public health programs, and other SDIIS users.
  • Possibly travel statewide to support program implementation and quality improvement.

The South Dakota Department of Health, Division of Family & Community Health's Office of Chronic Disease Prevention and Health Promotion is seeking an energetic and passionate individual to join the team as the Immunization Registry Coordinator.

The Immunization Registry Coordinator will manage the South Dakota Immunization Information System (SDIIS), a statewide immunization database, that maintains comprehensive immunization histories of all patients entered in the database. Duties include, but are not limited to, maintenance of the immunization registry including account management, vaccine product information, and customer service related to registry questions or functionality. The Immunization Registry Coordinator will closely collaborate with internal and external partners, including healthcare facilities and clinicians, public health programs, pharmacies, and other entities enrolled for SDIIS usage. The position requires strong communication, professionalism, and teamwork skills. This position may require occasional statewide and national travel.

The Ideal Candidate Will Have:

A bachelor's degree in a health-related field such as health promotion, public health, or data science - preferred.

Knowledge of:

  • work as part of a team in a fast paced, continuously evolving environment of health promotion and disease prevention.
Additional Requirements:

This position is eligible for Veterans' Preference per ARSD 55:10:02:08.
