Job summary

Burr & Forman LLP seeks a full-time, experienced immigration paralegal to support the firm’s immigration practice through preparation, filing, and tracking of various immigration applications and petitions. The position will preferably be resident in our Atlanta, GA, Bluffton, SC, Columbia, SC or Greenville, SC offices.

The Essentials include a bachelor’s degree or paralegal certification, two years of business immigration experience with visa petitions (H-1B, L-1, TN) and green cards (PERM),

Qualifications

• Two years of business immigration experience with visa petitions (H-1B, L-1, TN) and green cards (PERM).
• Bachelor’s degree or paralegal certification or appropriate combination of education/experience.
• Highly organized, detail-oriented, proactive, and able to take ownership.
• Excellent writing, proofreading, and research skills.
• Ability to balance competing priorities in a fast-paced environment with professionalism.
• Collaborative team player across audiences.
• Proficiency in Word, Excel and PowerPoint; knowledge of Asana, LawLogix or other immigration software a plus.

Responsibilities

• Prepare visa applications and petitions for business and employment-based immigration cases.
• Experience with an immigration case management system and project management software.
• Compile and analyze complex case facts and documents and prepare reports and other immigration documents.
• Maintain and manage case files including tracking deadlines and responding to status inquiries.
• Extensive communication with clients, beneficiaries, attorneys, and government agencies.
• Draft immigration correspondence including support letters and other key documents for attorney review.
• Other responsibilities as needed.
