Whitman Advisory, on behalf of our client, is seeking an Immigration Paralegal to support multiple attorneys in a busy immigration practice in Richmond, Virginia.

The ideal candidate is organized, detail-oriented, and capable of managing a high-volume caseload with deadlines in a fast-paced environment. Strong written and verbal communication, teamwork and client-focused service are essential in this on-site role.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree required; paralegal certificate or related training preferred.
  • Experience in a law firm or immigration matters preferred but not required.
  • Strong communication, organization, and ability to manage a high-volume caseload.

Responsibilities

  • Support attorneys with corporate immigration matters.
  • Prepare and coordinate a variety of immigration petitions and applications (H-1B, E-2, L-1, PERM, I-140, I-485, family-based petitions, naturalization).
  • Assist with responses to Requests for Evidence and government correspondence.
  • Gather, organize, and review information and supporting documentation from clients.
  • Prepare immigration forms, petitions, applications, letters, and supporting documentation for attorney review.
  • Finalize and coordinate submission of filings following attorney review.
  • Monitor case status, deadlines, and government processing updates.
  • Maintain accurate and organized case files and track a high volume of matters.
  • Communicate regularly with clients regarding case status, required documentation, and next steps; conduct basic legal research.
  • Assist attorneys with identifying issues and developing solutions for individual cases.
  • Stay current on changes to immigration regulations and filing procedures.
  • Assist with billing-related processes and generate reports.
  • Provide guidance to clients and internal contacts regarding immigration procedures.

This law firm is seeking a Immigration Paralegal to join its growing practice. This position will support multiple attorneys and play an integral role in preparing and managing a variety of employment-based and family-based immigration matters.

The ideal candidate is highly organized, detail-oriented, and comfortable managing multiple matters and deadlines in a fast-paced environment. Strong communication skills and the ability to work proactively with attorneys, clients, and internal stakeholders are essential.

Responsibilities
  • Support attorneys with the preparation and management of corporate immigration matters.

  • Provide guidance to clients and internal contacts regarding immigration procedures and case-management processes.
Required Education, Skills & Experience
  • Bachelor’s degree required; paralegal certificate or related training preferred.
  • Prior law firm, immigration, or professional services experience preferred, but not required.
  • Experience supporting corporate or employment-based immigration matters is highly desirable.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities, deadlines, and a high-volume caseload.
  • Strong computer skills and proficiency with Microsoft Office and document management systems.
  • Ability to learn new software and case-management platforms quickly.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to work independently while collaborating effectively with a team.
  • Professional, client-focused approach with strong follow-through.
  • Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment.
