Job summary

University of California - Davis is seeking a Legal Services Director to oversee the UC Immigrant Legal Services Center’s day-to-day immigration services, supervise staff, and guide best practices. This senior role reports to the Executive Director and participates in strategic planning and program design.

The position emphasizes managing high-quality legal services, staff performance, and collaboration with stakeholders to advance the center’s mission across UC campuses.

Qualifications

• J.D. degree required; must be a member in good standing of a State Bar.
• At least ten (10) years of immigration law practice experience including complex affirmative family-based relief, U-Visa, VAWA, SIJS, adjustment of status, naturalization, advance parole, DACA, motions to reopen, and removal defense.
• Minimum three (3) years of program management experience and at least four (4) years supervising attorneys and non-attorneys.
• Ability to develop plans, set objectives, and align with organizational strategy; strong problem-solving and delegation skills.
• Excellent professional judgment and ability to provide strategic advice to senior management.

Responsibilities

• Inform strategic direction of the program and contribute to leadership decisions.
• Manage and coordinate legal service delivery, including performance of staff and program quality.
