Job summary

The Legal Clinic (TLC) in Honolulu is seeking a full-time legal assistant to join a small but growing team. TLC provides high-quality immigration services, education, and advocacy for low-income immigrants.

The role supports reception, client screening, case file management, and document preparation under attorney supervision. A degree and prior admin or legal experience are preferred, with a focus on sensitivity, confidentiality, and teamwork.

Qualifications

• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Associate's or Bachelor's degree, or higher, preferred.
• Previous administrative or legal assistant experience preferred.
• Must be detailed oriented with superb organizational skills.
• Ability to work with diverse colleagues and clients.
• Maintain client confidentiality and professional courtesy.
• Ability to take initiative, multi-task, meet deadlines, and work under pressure.
• Familiarity with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Teams, PowerPoint) and learn FastVisa.
• Interest in immigrant and migrant rights.

Responsibilities

• Handle reception via phone, email, and in person.
• Screen clients and support the legal services team.
• Coordinate client communications including intake, scheduling, and follow-ups.
• Manage case files, data entry, document prep, scanning, and mailing.
• Provide event support and coordinate interpretation/translation services.
• Assist with filings and coordination for USCIS interviews.
