Job summary

The U.S. Committee for Refugees and Immigrants (USCRI) in Michigan seeks a Legal Assistant, UAC Legal Services, to support direct legal services for Unaccompanied Alien Children in ORR care, coordinating orientations, managing case files, and assisting with court filings.

This in-person role requires strong organizational and communication skills, experience with case management systems, and sensitivity to vulnerable populations; Spanish language skills are preferred but not required.

Qualifications

• Minimum 2 years of experience in legal, immigration services, case management, or administrative support role.
• Experience with children, youth, or vulnerable populations preferred.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate and support legal orientation presentations for UAC within the immigration system.
• Assist with scheduling, logistics, and materials for orientations at ORR shelters and care facilities.
• Support legal consultations by gathering documents and maintaining client records.
