Job summary

Arizona State University is seeking a Global Education Specialist 1 for the International Students and Scholars Center (ISSC) on the Tempe campus. The role provides immigration advising for international students and scholars to ensure compliance with regulations and to enhance their campus experience.

The ideal candidate interprets regulations for F-1 status, advises on OPT, maintains accurate files, and coordinates with DHS and other DSOs.

Qualifications

• Associate’s degree and 1 year of experience in the area or field, or an equivalent combination of experience and training.
• Demonstrated ability to organize tasks and manage priorities.
• Proven communication skills and the ability to interact with diverse stakeholders.

Responsibilities

• Interprets immigration regulations for F-1 status.
• Advises F-1 students on OPT and serves as Designated School Official (DSO).
• Monitors regulatory updates and updates operations, forms and advisement accordingly.
• Maintains student files and SEVIS/Sunapsis records for accurate data.
• Interfaces with DHS agencies and other DSOs to ensure consistency of procedures.
• Develops workshops/information sessions with International Student Advisers.
• Coordinates immigration area assessment within ISSC and supports special projects.
