Job summary

The University of Texas at Austin, via its Global Engagement arm, seeks an International Student Advisor on the UT Main Campus to support international students with immigration advising, integration, and campus life guidance.

You will work with the advising team to navigate DHS and DOS regulations, assist with visas, and help students engage with the university community, across programs and offices.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree and 3 years in international student advising or immigration casework.
• Ability to implement creative solutions in a fast-paced team.
• Strong intercultural communication and public speaking skills.
• Multitask, stay organized, and deliver high-quality service.
• Equivalent substitution of education and experience may apply.

Responsibilities

• Advise on F-1 and J-1 immigration status and work authorizations.
• Provide pre-arrival and arrival immigration guidance.
• Support high-volume email inquiries and collaborate with staff.
• Maintain DHS SEVIS records and ensure regulatory compliance.
