Job summary

The University of Texas at Austin's ISSS is seeking a graduate student to join the Student Immigration Advising team at UT's Main Campus. The GA will support events, inbound exchange processes, data analysis, and resource development while maintaining accurate records and contributing to program design.

Responsibilities include planning events, guiding admissions, and creating processes and reports to improve workflows.

Qualifications

• Must be a current or admitted graduate student at The University of Texas at Austin.
• Experience working directly with college/university students.
• Ability to demonstrate initiative, strong administrative, organizational, research, and problem‑solving skills.
• Ability to work with a variety of populations and to work collaboratively within a team atmosphere.
• Advanced oral and written communication skills.
• Ability to exercise discretion and independent judgment.
• Ability to work with sensitive and confidential information.

Responsibilities

• Events and programming: plan and execute events for international students, including proposing programs and coordinating logistics.
• Support of inbound exchange program: assist with nomination, application, and review processes and guide incoming students through admissions via email.
• Program assessment and resource creation: analyze data, prepare reports, and develop immigration/life resources.
• Documentation and improvement of processes: maintain internal records and suggest workflow improvements.
