Lawhive in New York City is seeking an Immigration Attorney to manage a high‑volume portfolio focused on family and small business immigration, including visas and naturalization. You will collaborate with Product and Engineering to shape an AI‑powered platform and advise on workflow improvements.

Qualifications

• Excellent organisational skills to manage a high volume caseload.
• Successful track record working with clients that need immigration help.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills with the ability to articulate complex concepts clearly and effectively.
• A strong interest in AI and how it can be used to improve the legal system.
• Empathy and patience when dealing with questions.
• Strong problem-solving and decision-making abilities.
• Ability to work independently and in a team environment.
• Highly motivated, proactive, and able to thrive in a fast-paced environment.
• Previous experience in a start-up or scale-up environment considered a bonus.

Responsibilities

• Manage a portfolio of immigration matters from start to finish.
• Advise clients on legal merits, potential outcomes, and next steps.
• Prepare & file a wide range of different US visa applications.
• Define limited scope product offerings for small business and family Immigration needs.
• Assist in collaborating with co-counsel on matters that require local or in-person representation as needed.
• Serve as a subject matter expert, partnering with our Product and Engineering teams to review and provide feedback on product features for Lawhive’s AI platform, affecting immigration matters
• Advise on edge cases, risk scenarios, and regulatory considerations
• Participate in user testing, feature scoping, and documentation reviews
