Canto Legal Immigration Attorneys in Towson, MD seeks an experienced Immigration Attorney to lead removal defense cases before the Immigration Court and to handle family-based immigration matters in a collaborative, fast-paced environment.

The ideal candidate will independently manage cases, provide strategic guidance, and advocate zealously for clients while working in a hybrid schedule with weekly remote work.

Qualifications

• J.D. degree and active U.S. bar membership.
• 2–3 years of immigration law experience, with a focus on removal defense.
• Experience before EOIR (Immigration Court).
• Strong legal writing, analytical, advocacy, and case management skills.
• Ability to independently manage a caseload and priorities.
• Spanish fluency strongly preferred.

Responsibilities

• Represent clients in removal defense before the Immigration Court and other agencies.
• Meet with clients to evaluate cases and advise on relief options; develop strategies.
• Prepare briefs, memoranda, motions, and EOIR/USCIS filings.
• Manage removal defense from intake to final resolution; prepare witnesses for hearings.
• Handle family-based immigration matters (adjustment, consular processing, waivers, VAWA, U visas, asylum, naturalization, petitions).

Canto Legal Immigration Attorneys is seeking a highly motivated Immigration Attorney to join our growing litigation team. This position is ideal for an attorney with experience in removal defense who can independently manage cases, provide strategic legal guidance, and zealously advocate for clients facing removal proceedings before the Immigration Court while also handling family-based immigration matters in a collaborative, fast-paced environment.

Key Responsibilities

Represent clients in removal defense proceedings before the Immigration Court and other immigration agencies. Meet with clients to evaluate their cases, advise them regarding available forms of immigration relief, and develop effective legal strategies tailored to each case. Prepare legal briefs, memorandums, motions, and applications for filing with the Executive Office for Immigration Review (EOIR), U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Services (USCIS), and other government agencies. Manage removal defense matters from initial consultation through final resolution, prepare clients and witnesses for hearings, and provide strong courtroom advocacy. Additionally, handle a variety of family-based immigration matters, including adjustment of status, consular processing, waivers, VAWA, U visas, asylum, naturalization, and family petitions, ensuring accurate case preparation and exceptional client service throughout the legal process.

• Minimum 2–3 years of immigration law experience, with a strong focus on removal defense proceedings
• Experience representing clients before the Immigration Court (EOIR)
• Strong legal writing, analytical, advocacy, and case management skills
• Ability to independently manage a caseload and multiple priorities
• Spanish fluency strongly preferred
