Job summary

The Educational Case Manager at the Center for Immigrant Education and Training (CIET) within LaGuardia Community College will counsel and advise clients on career, academic, and social services needs. The role supports ESOL learners and immigrant adults, coordinating referrals and leading workshops.

Responsibilities include tracking progress, maintaining data in compliance with funder rules, and developing relationships with partner organizations to support student success.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in a directly related field from an accredited institution; Master's degree preferred.
• Relevant experience in counseling individuals and/or leading workshops.
• Familiarity with barriers facing English language learner and internationally trained professional immigrants.

Responsibilities

• Counsel and advise clients on career, academic, and social service needs.
• Review intake forms to assess needs, coordinate referrals/events, and arrange workshops with guest speakers.
• Lead in-class workshops and one-on-one follow-ups, including college and career planning.
• Advise on career ladders and pathways for immigrants.
• Assist students with education and employment plans; track progress and maintain data in compliance with funder requirements.
• Establish referral relationships with partner organizations and CUNY departments.
