Job summary

Gensler's Brand Experience Design Studio in Charlotte seeks an Experience Designer with a strong background in physical and spatial design. You will translate experiential narratives into compelling visualizations, design documentation, and realized spaces, moving seamlessly between concept development and technical execution.

Qualifications

• 5–10 years of professional experience in experiential design or related fields.
• Proficiency in 3D modeling workflows and design visualization.
• Strong portfolio with realized physical environments or branded experiences.
• Experience producing design intent drawings and coordinating multi-discipline docs.
• Knowledge of fabrication methods, materials, and integrated tech systems.
• Excellent visualization, diagramming, and storytelling abilities.
• Architecture or environmental design background strongly preferred.
• Experience across brand, digital, and experiential media is valued.
• Motion design or animation skills are a plus.
• Strong communication and presentation skills.
• Software proficiency: Adobe Creative Suite; Revit; Rhino/SketchUp; UX/UI prototyping tools.

Responsibilities

• Design immersive brand, cultural, retail, hospitality, workplace, and public experiences.
• Develop spatial concepts and design systems from ideation through construction.
• Produce 3D visualizations and presentations communicating design intent.
• Create design intent packages integrating architectural, fabrication, media, lighting, and tech needs.
• Develop and maintain 3D models across the project lifecycle.
• Coordinate designs with architecture, interiors, engineering, media, and consultants.
• Collaborate with fabricators and contractors to ensure buildable outcomes.
• Participate in site visits, mockups, and project delivery.
• Contribute to strategic and creative development while focusing on craftsmanship.
• Mentor junior designers and elevate design quality across teams.
