Job summary

Cumberland Family Medical Center (CFMC) is seeking a skilled APRN for First Choice Immediate Care in Columbia, KY. The role emphasizes independent clinical work in a fast-paced urgent care setting, with collaboration across physicians, nurses, and support staff.

The APRN will manage acute illnesses, order tests, prescribe treatments, and develop individualized care plans while maintaining comprehensive patient records and following best practices and regulations.

Qualifications

• MSN or DNP required with APRN licensure in Kentucky.
• FNP certification and active, unrestricted license desired.
• Experience with diverse patient populations.

Responsibilities

• Obtain medical histories and perform physical exams.

First Choice Immediate Care - Adair is a fast-paced, patient-focused urgent care clinic committed to providing high-quality, compassionate care to individuals and families in our community. We treat a wide range of non-emergency conditions with efficiency and excellence, and we’re looking for a dedicated APRN to join our clinical team.

The APRN will provide direct patient care for a variety of acute illnesses and injuries. This role is ideal for a skilled and confident practitioner who can work independently and in collaboration with a supportive clinical team.

Job Functions/Responsibilities

• Obtain comprehensive medical histories and conduct physical examinations.
• Diagnose and treat common illnesses and injuries.
• Order and interpret diagnostic tests (e.g., lab work, imaging studies).
• Prescribe medications and other treatments as needed.
• Develop and implement individualized care plans.
• Counsel patients on preventive health measures, such as vaccinations and healthy lifestyle choices.
• Provide education to patients and their families regarding their medical conditions and treatment plans.
• Make referrals to specialists and other healthcare providers as appropriate.
• Collaborate with other members of the healthcare team, including physicians, nurses, and other support staff.
• Maintain accurate and up-to-date patient records.
• Stay current with the latest medical advancements and best practices.
• Participate in quality improvement initiatives.
• Adhere to all applicable regulations and guidelines.
• Demonstrate a commitment to providing compassionate, patient-centered care.
• Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications / Required Experience

• Experience working with diverse patient populations.
• Experience with electronic health records (EHR) systems.

• Comprehensive knowledge of family medicine principles, practices, and procedures.

Required Education

• Master of Science in Nursing (MSN) or Doctor of Nursing Practice (DNP)
• Current and unrestricted Registered Nurse (RN) and Advanced Practice Registered Nurse (APRN) licenses in the state of Kentucky (or eligibility for licensure)
• National certification as a Family Nurse Practitioner (FNP)

Schedule Requirements

Full-time position -- weekends and holidays included, 100% clinic-based, in person work required.

Work schedules are set at the discretion of CFMC and may be adjusted at any time based on the operational needs of the organization.
