Job summary

The Staff Pad is hiring a Registered Nurse (RN) for a high-acuity Intermediate Care Unit (IMCU) at a regional hospital in Wausau, WI. This full-time position offers 12-hour shifts with day and night options, supporting care for medically complex patients.

Ideal candidates include current Wisconsin RNs (or compact-eligible), with BLS and strong communication. New graduates are welcome, and a supportive onboarding program is provided to develop clinical expertise.

Qualifications

Current RN license in Wisconsin or eligibility through a compact license.
BLS certification.
Strong communication, teamwork, and clinical assessment skills.
New graduate RNs are welcome to apply; experienced RNs encouraged.

Responsibilities

Provide safe, compassionate, and patient-centered nursing care for IMCU patients.
Monitor patients closely and recognize changes in condition.
Assess, prioritize, and respond to evolving patient needs.
Care for patients with complex medical, neurological, trauma, and post-surgical conditions.
Collaborate with physicians, CNAs, therapists, and other care team members.
Administer medications and treatments according to established protocols.
Develop and strengthen advanced assessment and clinical decision-making skills.
Educate patients and families throughout the care process.
