Job summary

Northwest Health - Porter Hospital is seeking a Registered Nurse for the IMCU on a full-time, day-shift schedule. The role entails 36 hours weekly across 12-hour shifts from 7a to 7p, coordinating high-quality patient care in a busy unit.

The RN will collaborate with physicians and the team to ensure safe, effective care, patient education, and adherence to clinical protocols while supporting a compassionate environment for patients and families.

Qualifications

• 0-2 years of clinical nursing experience or student rotations.
• RN license in state or compact if applicable.
• BCLS required; ACLS/PALS/NRP preferred.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate and deliver patient-centered nursing care per policy and nursing process.
• Assess patients thoroughly and document findings, reporting changes promptly.
• Administer medications and monitor for side effects with accurate documentation.
• Assist physicians during procedures within competency and scope.
• Develop and adjust care plans with the healthcare team based on assessments.
• Respond to emergencies and participate in CPR/code team activities as needed.
• Educate patients and families on conditions, treatments, and post-discharge care.
• Maintain infection control practices and safe care environments.
