Job summary

UMC Health System in Lubbock, TX, seeks a Registered Nurse for the Medical Surgical Intermediate Care Unit (IMCU). This full-time days position (7A–7P) serves adolescent to geriatric patients in an 18-bed unit with a Primary Care Nursing model and nurse-to-patient ratios of 1:3–4.

You will assess and provide total nursing care, collaborate with a multidisciplinary team, and pursue specialty certification. BSN preferred; Texas RN license required; BLS/ACLS required; minimum 1 year experience.

Qualifications

• Graduation from an accredited School of Nursing.
• Valid Texas RN License/Eligible Compact License.
• Must maintain a current BLS & ACLS certification from American Heart Association.
• BSN required or must be obtained within 3 years of hire.
• PCCN Certification preferred but not required.
• Minimum of 1 years of experience required.

Responsibilities

• Assess, plan, implement, and evaluate total nursing care for assigned patients.
• Provide patient-centered care in an 18-bed IMCU for diverse populations.
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to ensure continuity of care.
• Perform neuro checks, wound care, glucose monitoring, and vital signs as indicated.
