Job summary

Aspirus Health in Wausau, WI is hiring an IMCU RN to deliver high-acuity care on our regional hospital unit. This role focuses on complex medical-surgical contrasts and requires close patient monitoring.

You’ll work with an interdisciplinary care team, administer medications per protocols, educate patients and families, and participate in a strong orientation and ongoing professional growth.

Qualifications

• Current RN license in Wisconsin or eligibility through a compact license.
• BLS certification.
• Strong communication, teamwork, and clinical assessment skills.
• New graduate RNs are welcome to apply.
• Experienced RNs with med-surg, telemetry, step-down, IMCU or ICU experience encouraged.

Responsibilities

• As an IMCU RN, you’ll provide comprehensive nursing care to patients who require closer monitoring and more advanced clinical care than a traditional medical-surgical setting.
• Provide safe, compassionate, and patient-centered nursing care
• Monitor patients closely and recognize changes in condition
• Assess, prioritize, and respond to evolving patient needs
• Care for patients with complex medical, neurological, trauma, and post-surgical conditions
• Collaborate with physicians, CNAs, therapists, and other members of the care team
• Administer medications and treatments according to established protocols
• Develop and strengthen advanced assessment and clinical decision-making skills
• Educate patients and families throughout the care process
