Job summary

Sentara Martha Jefferson Hospital in Charlottesville, VA, is hiring a Part Time Patient Care Technician for the IMCU on the Day shift. The role supports RN staff with direct patient care, daily living activities, vital signs, mobility, and diagnostic tasks including phlebotomy and EKGs.

BLS within 90 days of hire is required. Education includes a HS diploma or GED with acceptable CNA/NCMA/NCPCT or related programs.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Current CNA/NCMA/NCPCT or related certification preferred.
• Experience in patient care in healthcare setting is advantageous.

Responsibilities

• Provide patient care in the IMCU under RN supervision.
• Assist with activities of daily living and mobility.
• Perform phlebotomy, specimen collection, EKG testing, and point-of-care testing as needed.
• Monitor patients’ conditions and report changes to nursing staff.
• Assist with IV removal, catheter care, and basic clinical tasks as directed.
