Job summary

Smithsonian Theaters seeks an experienced Projectionist to operate IMAX dual laser 3D and conventional digital cinema projectors, various audio/visual equipment, digital dome projection and sound systems, and other A/V setups.

The Projectionist may work at multiple venues including National Air and Space Museum locations in Washington, DC and Chantilly, VA, with travel as needed. Salary up to $52,500, commensurate with experience.

Qualifications

• Associate's degree or equivalent or 6 months to 1 year related experience.
• Ability to work weekends/holidays and flexible hours.
• Experience operating cinema or digital dome theater equipment.

Responsibilities

• Operate IMAX dual laser 3D and digital projectors and A/V systems.
• Perform routine maintenance and assist during repairs.
• Interact with patrons and staff professionally during shows.
• Travel between Smithsonian Theaters locations as needed.
