Job summary

Geisinger Medical Center in Danville, PA seeks a Student Radiology Assistant to provide non-technical and supervised support across Radiology departments. You will assist with patient transport, room prep, and imaging workflow under the guidance of a registered technologist.

Qualified applicants are second-year students or first-year students meeting competency requirements, enrolled in an accredited radiology/vascular/echo program, and holding a Basic Life Support certification.

Qualifications

• Must be a second-year student, or first-year student who satisfied all competency requirements.
• Actively attending an accredited Radiology technology, vascular, or echo program recognized by JRC-ARRT, JRC-DMS, or CMA/CCAHEP.
• High School Diploma or GED required.
• Basic Life Support Certification is required.

Responsibilities

• Operates imaging equipment pertaining to a specific modality of hire under supervision.
• Produces quality imaging studies under guidance until competency is achieved.
• Performs post-processing of imaging studies as applicable under supervision.
• Prepares patients for exams including MRI Safety Screening where applicable.
• Maintains imaging equipment and ensures ALARA safety practices.
