Job summary

Geisinger Clinic is seeking a student Radiology Support role to provide non-technical and supervised assistance across Radiology departments. You will help with patient transport, room preparation, and imaging support under technologist supervision to ensure efficient patient flow.

The position requires enrollment in an accredited Radiology tech program and active eligibility with recognized boards. Working Days vary with an emphasis on hands-on learning within a clinical setting.

Qualifications

• Currently a second-year student, or first-year student who has satisfied all competency requirements in a Radiology technology, vascular, or echo program recognized by JRC-ARRT, JRC-DMS, or CMA/CCAHEP.
• Must be enrolled and actively attending an accredited program recognized by the respective boards.

Responsibilities

• Operates imaging equipment for the specified modality under supervision.
• Assists Radiology staff by transporting patients and preparing imaging rooms.
• Processes imaging studies post-acquisition under supervision until competency is achieved.
• Prepares patients for exams including MRI safety screening where applicable.
• Maintains imaging equipment and ensures ALARA principles to minimize exposure.
• Supports the team with patient safety and documentation in the RIS.
• Collaborates with licensed practitioners to verify clinical history and documentation.
• Assists with patient transportation and general departmental duties as needed.
